Privacy
RICO is a calorie and macro tracking app. Meal logs, weight entries, targets, favourites and profile settings are stored on your device using Apple's local storage technologies. RICO does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.
Meal analysis
When you choose AI analysis, the photo or food description you submit is sent securely through RICO's Cloudflare service to OpenAI to generate an estimate. An anonymous installation identifier is included for abuse prevention and request limiting. RICO does not include your name, email address or Apple Account in an analysis request.
Analytics
RICO records limited pseudonymous product events such as whether analysis succeeded, whether a portion was adjusted, whether a meal was logged and whether a subscription action succeeded, was cancelled, remained pending or failed. These events include app version and language-region setting. They do not include meal names, photos, calorie values, weight, profile biometrics, free-text food descriptions, email addresses or transaction details.
Photos, retention and control
A compressed meal thumbnail may be stored locally when you confirm a photo entry. Submitted analysis content is processed to answer your request; RICO asks its AI provider not to retain responses for model training through the API request settings. You can delete individual meal and weight entries inside the app. Deleting the app removes its locally stored data.
Audit and beta applications
If you apply through the RICO website, we collect the contact, current tracking method, meal frequency and logging-problem information shown on the form to assess fit and contact you about the founding audit or product testing. Applying does not provide payment details. If you later buy an audit, the payment provider processes your payment information under its own privacy terms; RICO does not receive your full card number. You may request access, correction or deletion by replying to any RICO email.
Optional RICO accounts
If you create an optional account, RICO stores an account identifier and, when supplied by your chosen sign-in method, your email address. Apple, Google, WeChat and RICO's authentication provider process the information required to complete the method you select. Your meal and weight history remains on your device unless RICO clearly introduces and asks you to enable a future sync feature.
Children and health
RICO is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It provides general estimates, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Do not use it to manage allergies, an eating disorder or a medical condition.
Service providers: Cloudflare, OpenAI and, when accounts are enabled, Supabase and the sign-in provider you select. This policy may be updated when RICO's data practices change.
